Tedy Necula is a film director from Romania. His work covers documentaries and fiction films, as well as social commercials and music videos. He has worked with UNICEF, Save the Children, Blue Heron Foundation, JRC Germany and other 15 local foundations for social TV ads. Tedy targeted his creation methods on a social side of communication. He thinks that all we create is about people. So even in a commercial or music video, we talk about people, about their needs, feelings and attitudes.

“It is not about how you do it. It is how you understand it!” His disability has motivated him to understand the world and its message in a different way, in a way of positive thinking and action. He also motivates others to develop themselves and to explore the world thru creation, especially filmmaking.

The Story of Tedy Necula

“I can’t run but I can walk, to take my life step by step.”

Tedy started directing films, 6 years ago, when fighting with his motion handicap, he discovered that he can make films. This passion dates back to 2002 when he played main character in Noro (directed by Radu Gabrea). Then, due to his experience in the past 8 years in NGOs, Tedy was able to promote, through tv ads, several social campaings. The first social ad made was awarded with a prize at The Civil Society Gale, in 2006. In 2008 Tedy Necula started Filmmaking Romania, his production label, which has produced until now, 2 feature films, 5 documentaries and over 25 music videos and commercials. The young filmmaker found out that he inspires people with his example of evolution, when he was called to speak in organisations, in schools, even in Romanian Government. Now Tedy is a world wide director and producer. You can have him in your project, as soon as you contact him. Tedy doesn’t use a wheelchair. He can walk ok, but needs an assistant.
